Junior Year Drawing Concentration

 Vanitas is a drawing concentration that is based in the 17th Century Dutch movement Vanias which are mostly detealed realistic still life paintings. The real purpuse of Vanitas paintings is to show the viewers that life is shorter than it appears and that only fools waste a life around fake luxuries and vanities. Symbols of death and vanity are represented through bubbles, candles , smoke, musical instruments, skulls, flowers, fruit, coins, cloths, butterflies, shells, playing cards, wine bottles, jewlery, mirrors and cups.
